Outfit of the Day 114

Hat: Domino Dollhouse | Dress: Macy's | Belt: Forever 21+ | Tights: ASOS Curve | Shoes: Payless

So I may have taken a few photos of this one, haha. I'm really diggin' this outfit, though, so can you blame me for all the photos? I guess this is actually a bit of a remix from when I last wore this dress on the blog back in June, and I think it's pretty interesting to see how my style has evolved over at time. That's always fun, right?

These tights, y'all. These. tights.

Outfit of the Day 113

Blazer: Forever 21+ | Top: New Look | Dress: Domino Dollhouse  | Belt: ASOS Curve | Tights: Wolford | Shoes: Torrid

Mrs. Spookshow & I are having some friends over tonight, and I always like to take that opportunity to wear something nice. Today I wanted to try on some teal eyebrows as I mentioned in my last OOTD over on Tumblr, so naturally that called for some skull print, right? Haha.

I decided to have some fun and take some twirling photos in this set, as my last twirling set has been pretty damn popular, so hopefully y'all will enjoy that. I somehow managed to look directly in to the camera on one of them. Derp!

Outfit of the Day 112

Top: Forever 21+ | Dress: Modcloth | Belt: ASOS Curve | Shoes: Keds

I'm back with a new OOTD post! My foot is still healing (and is quite sore today), so I probably won't be back to regular posts for another week or so, but I was feelin' the need to take some photos today so here I am.

I had a bit of a depilation error over the weekend, so I'm drawing on eyebrows for the time being. It's something I've done in the past, though not here on the blog, so ... yeah there's that. I'm not entirely sure that I love it and will keep it, but whatevs.

I got these shoes today and they went straight out the box, on my feet, and in these photos, ha. They fit pretty perfect and are really comfortable. I've been wanting a more neutral pair of canvas shoes after loving that skull print pair I got from Torrid recently, and I've also been needing a pair of navy shoes so these worked out pretty perfect there. I love it when a plan comes together.

That's it for this one, y'all. Let me know what you think down in the comments below, and I'll be seeing you again soon, okay?

Hey, everyone. I just wanted to write a quick post here to let you all know that I'm not going to be able to post any OOTDs for a little while, as I had a bit of an accident earlier today and managed to stab myself in the foot with a pair of scissors. Wait to go, noob. It's not too bad, but it's gnarly enough to keep me from wearing anything cute / being able to strike a pose until it heals up a bit, so ... yeah. Sorry, everyone! I'll be back as soon as possible! Keep rockin'! <3

Outfit of the Day 110 & Wolford Tights Review

Dress & Shoes: Torrid | Tights: Wolford

Mrs. Spookshow & I decided to take our daughter to the opening of the Macy's parade at Universal Studios Orlando, and this is the outfit I picked out to wear. Unfortunately, it wound up being so damned hot yesterday (87 degrees in December?!) that I just couldn't bring myself to wear so much black. Shame, because this outfit is so comfortable and cute!

I've recently purchased my first pairs of Wolford hosiery and ... just wow. For whatever reason, I always assumed that they just didn't make anything that would fit me, but when I had a look at the updated size chart things looked a bit more promising. I wound up getting a pair of Satin Touch 20 pantyhose and these Velvet De Luxe opaque tights. I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the hosiery, though I honestly didn't think I wold be super blown away given the heavy price tag and all. Oh, but I was so wrong.

These are hands down the best tights I have ever owned. They are so soft and comfortable, yet durable, and they fit perfectly. It's hard to explain, but the way they fit and feel is just that much better than any other hosiery I've worn (and I've tried a lot of other brands). If you enjoy hosiery (or even if you don't, these tights might seriously convert you), I definitely encourage you to indulge yourself and buy a pair of Wolfords. I seriously don't think I can go back to other hosiery brands now. They are that good.

That's it for this one, y'all, but before I go I'd just like to mention that if you'd like to see what I wound up wearing to the parade yesterday, you should totally follow my Instagram and Twitter accounts!

Outfit of the Day 109

Top, Skirt, & Pantyhose: Forever 21+ | Shoes: ?

This look just kinda naturally came together as soon as I got my hands on this plaid miniskirt. While it's definitely got a prep school vibe that I actually really dig, my inspiration here came from Amy Pond. Now, I dunno if I nailed it or not, but this combo just feels like something she'd wear, so hey.

I really love this sweater! One of the many downsides of living in Florida is that my seasons do not at all sync up with the seasonal clothing that rolls out at retailers. What I'm saying is that I've had this sweater in my closet for a long time now, just waiting for it to get even remotely cool enough to wear it. It still isn't, mostly, but I wore it anyways, because fuck Florida. I really dig how the studs on the sleeves (which totally look like stars ... killer!) play with the polka dotted pantyhose. Also, I continue to love this pixie.

See y'all tomorrow!

Outfit of the Day 108

Cardigan: Forever 21+ | Top: Target | Ring: Domino Dollhouse | Skirt: Forever 21+ | Pantyhose: Spanx | Shoes: Target

It totally didn't occur to me when I put this look together that I've worn this top & shoe combination here before. That's okay, of course, but I do try to make sure I mix it up as much as possible. I really felt the shoes were a good fit here, though, given the ripped pantyhose.

Speaking of ripped pantyhose, I actually have a bit of a product review. I bought these Spanx pantyhose last week, and frankly I'm not at all impressed. I've only ever purchased one other pair of pantyhose from Spanx, and they ripped the very first time I put them on ... exactly like these did. That first pair was a few years ago, and at the time I was largely willing to chalk it up to bad luck, but twice in a row? It's not like I'm a pantyhose noob (can't wait to see the search analytics for that combo), I never run my pantyhose when I'm putting them on, and I wear pantyhose nearly 365. Anyhow, outside of that, I'm also really not impressed with the metallic sheen on these hose. I have a similar style from Target, and although they didn't fit me and I thought the material was scratchy and uncomfortable as hell, they did have more of that metallic shimmer that I was hoping these would have.

Anyhow, suffice to say, I'm not impressed with Spanx brand pantyhose, and frankly I don't get how so many women sing the praises of them. Then again, I'm a total hosiery snob, and I don't think any American companies make pantyhose anywhere near the quality found in European brands. Opaque tights are a different story, as I quite like We Love Colors and Sock Dreams.

Since I put my finger through these pantyhose when I was putting them on, and I didn't want them to go completely to waste, I decided to just get a bit more rough with them and make a few more runs. Viola, punk chic. It works.
